Dreamers Crime are today announcing that they are to release their brand new album ‘No Compromises’ on Friday November 17 – an album created and crafted by the Sydney band along with Stevie Knight and Dave Petrovic at Electric Sun Studios (Tonight Alive, The Dead Love, Thy Art is Murder, Northlane). This is their debut album and it hits hard and pulls no punches.
‘No Compromises’ will be available for pre-order this Friday October 13 and punters will receive new single ‘Here We Are’ – their new single and the second cut from the record. Today, they are also releasing a filmclip for the track to celebrate the announcement – and the track will nab its radio premiere tomorrow night on triple j’s The Racket.
Following on from two years’ worth of writing and gigging in Australia, including opening a Rugby League pre-game show at ANZ stadium, the boys returned to the recording studio to lay down what became ‘No Compromises’.
Stevie Knight and Dave Petrovic brought Dreamers Crimes’ ideas and potential into reality. A melting pot of influences and ideas meshed together and out came an album that depicts the sound of a new era and style in song, which will be able to be heard in its entirety from November 17.

The unstoppable Australian metal outfit AS PARADISE FALLS have revealed the album art, track listing, and release date for their long-awaited new full-length album, ‘Digital Ritual’. The album was produced by Shane Edwards (Northlane, Trophy Eyes, Hellions) at Karma Sound Studios, and consists of eleven brand new songs. While recording ‘Digital Ritual’ in late 2015, the band’s guitarist Glen Barrie suddenly passed away. After clawing their way back from immense tragedy, the new album will finally see a release on July 21, 2017 through Eclipse Records.
“After everything that’s happened, releasing the album is a very emotional process,” states guitarist Danny Kenneally. “We’re stoked about finally sharing it with the world, but at the same time we’re anxious about whether we’ve done everything we can to preserve Glen’s legacy.” About working with producer Shane Edwards, Danny continues, “We’re very thankful that Shane produced our album. He knows exactly how to push us to our limits as musicians, getting the best out of us. He has the unique ability to place an idea of ours in his hands, and from there it just flourishes into something brilliant.”
The band recently released the first single from the album, entitled ‘Starblind’. A video for the song was premiered via Metal Hammer in the UK, and Triple J’s The Racket in Australia. Watch the ‘Starblind’ video clip below. New cuts from the record are coming very soon and As Paradise Falls are playing two Brisbane shows in the coming weeks – one supporting their mates As Paradise Falls at Brightside and one at the stupendous lineup of Dead of Winter festival.
‘Digital Ritual’ is available now for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon. Either option comes with the songs “StarBlind” and “Digital Ritual” as instant grat tracks! The album is also available to pre-order via Google Play. The single ‘StarBlind’ is already streaming via Spotify and Apple Music. Additional options and information about ‘Digital Ritual’ will be forthcoming at Eclipse Records. For more information on As Paradise Falls, please visit the band on Facebook or Twitter, and follow them on Spotify.
Never ones to shy away from a challenge, World Heavy Metal Champions Taberah have released the latest single from their upcoming album Sinner’s Lament: a galloping, thrash-drenched cover of The Eagles’ 70s classic “Hotel California”.
“I think it’s going to be a bit divisive,” says drummer Tom Brockman. “We are big fans of The Eagles and we all grew up listening to classic rock thanks to parents with immaculate musical tastes.”
“We wanted to create something a bit different and make the cover our own, while still paying respect to the original song and its writers.”
The cover begins with the familiar acoustic-jangles of the original, before the band’s signature guitar harmonies usher in a barrage of relentless drums, bone-crushing guitars and passionate vocals, all delivered with the certainty, humour and respect the band are known for. The video marks the band’s second collaboration with Dawnless Studios (www.dawnlessstudios.com).
Sinner’s Lament is set for a 19th May release through Rocket Distribution (Australia and New Zealand) and Rock Stakk Records (Japan). A European release via Killer Metal Records is TBC.
“Hotel California” is from The Eagles’ album of the same name, released in December of 1976.
Taberah are hitting the road in support of Sinner’s Lament with the following dates:
May 26th – The Brisbane Hotel, Hobart
May 27th – The Bendigo Hotel, Melbourne (Legions of Steel)
June 3rd – The Back Room, Brisbane
June 16th – The Bald Faced Stag, Sydney
June 1s7th – The Vault, Newcastle
July 14th – Amplifier Bar, Perth
July 15th – Cherry Bar, Melbourne (Amped Festival)
Inspired by their strong musical bond, Jonathon Barwick and Tom Brockman created what is now Taberah in 2004. The band’s sound and live performance is derived from an array of influences including the traditional heavy metal stylings of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, the rock n’ roll swagger of AC/DC and Thin Lizzy, and the over the top, tongue-in-cheek theatrics of Queen and The Darkness.
The four-piece quickly became a staple in the Tasmanian live music scene and are now one of the state’s top musical exports with an ever-expanding audience at home and around the world.
In 2011, Taberah blitzed a nationwide poll and were handpicked by Lemmy Kilmister himself to open for Motörhead on the Sydney leg of their Australian tour the same year.
The band have released two full length albums, The Light of Which I Dream (2011) and Necromancer (2013). Necromancer scored amazing reviews worldwide, and was voted album of the year by Triple M’s Distortion host Dave “Higgo” Higgins. The record peaked at number 12 on the Imports Chart in Japan’s most reliable heavy metal source, BURRN Magazine.
The band kicked off 2016 supporting Finland’s Nightwish on their Endless Forms Most Beautiful Australian tour.
Other milestones include sharing stages across Australia with high profile international and national acts, such as Blind Guardian, Ace Frehley (ex-KISS), Paul Di’anno (ex-Iron Maiden), Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest),Blessed by a Broken Heart, Municipal Waste and Hammerfall.
2017 will see them release their third studio album entitled Sinner’s Lament, followed by extensive touring throughout Australia, Europe and Japan.
Taberah deliver a show that is full of energy, over the top fun, theatrics and plenty of crowd interaction. This has earned the quartet a solid reputation for being one of Australia’s “must see” live bands.

Lucas Stone is a part of the landscape of the Gold Coast and Queensland heavy music scene and has been for what has been the better part of 20 years. His turns as part of the bands HELM, Tension and Scalene are lauded, are iconic and absolutely raw, emotional, heavy and uncompromising. Now, Lucas has embarked on what is his most revealing, most brutal, most true endeavour to date. He is releasing music that will gradually pull back the curtain on his story – a story about the man behind the lyrics and the screams and growls – and is releasing a digital book as well, a chapter at a time, along with each song. These songs feature various guests, a personal selection of mates and industry associates that Stone has either shared a part of his musical journey with or most wants to hear their presence on the tracks. Each performer best matched to the emotion of that story and song.
The first song, “Carry the Black”, accompanies the first chapter, “Get Born” and it touches on the beginning of Lucas’ harrowing tale from near-death at birth, growing up in Wollongong, his “punk as fuck” Mum, being raised in a home outside the law, the perils of hard drug abuse and so much more. A unique opportunity to look into a life usually not entirely revealed by the lyrics of a song, only glimpsed. Stone has always been very hesitant to reveal these elements of his life. As he relaxes into middle age, only now has he mustered up the strength, impetus and inspiration to couple this new music with the story. His intention throughout the process, to give back to his audience through his experience, and, survival.
‘Carry The Black’ is a tale told alongside his friends Colin Jeffs (Tongues, ex-Aversions Crown) on guest vocals, Leigh Dowling (Hammers) on guest vocals and Simon Reys (Scalene) on bass. Stone goes on to describe the song.
“It’s a rock song with a black soul. A metaphor for the shadows we carry with us, trudging through this swamp of mistakes and bad decisions in the hope of reaching something beautiful. Sometimes the beautiful is the ocean we’re drowning in – just gotta learn to swim and, in turn, learn to love the swim.
I channel pure human evil for this one. It’s not nice. It uses satanic imagery and dialogue as the best depiction of the metaphor, relative and contradictory to two of my most hated facets of humanity – organised religion and forced governance.
In short, this song is about buckling to all of it. About giving in and living with the pure disdain for our weakness as a species. We are forced to live with, and even enjoy, everything we hate the most just to survive this mess. Totally goes against our natural state of being and where we’re supposed to position ourselves. But we do it anyway.
‘We are so far south from everywhere, but this is where we dwell, from here on in’.”

Brisbane prog-metallers THE STRANGER are dropping a new cut from their forthcoming self-titled album, due for release on April 21.
Solomon’s Son is the latest taste from the record, an epic prog-metal track from this, their debut album. The band’s latest music has drawn comparisons to bands such as Protest the Hero and Devin Townsend, and previous singles Divine Intervention and The Whip both enjoyed spins on Triple J’s The Racket and the filmclip for The Whip being featured on Rage.
Both singles, The Whip and Solomon’s Son, will be available in Spotify from this Friday 14th April. Previous single Divine Intervention is available in Spotify now to stream.
Adam Merker (Aversions Crown, Lagerstein, Disentomb) from Anderz Debeerz Studio recorded the album with David Castillo (Katatonia, Bloodbath, Opeth) from Ghost Ward Studios on mix duties and Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Caligula’s Horse) from Fascination Street Studios doing final master on the polished, sharp and epic album.
Of the record, Kalen Austin said, “We are absolutely proud of our work on the album and what we are about to embark on, the release of our self-titled debut LP – and The Whip, we feel, is the epitome of what the record is about – heavy, fun and it’s a favourite to play live.”
Since its inception, The Stranger has been captivating audiences with their energetic live performances which display the interplay of instrumental virtuosity and lyrical story telling – for which the band has become known. The Stranger has been fortunate enough to share the stage with Australian progressive metal powerhouses Caligula’s Horse and German power metal legends Helloween.
The Stranger’s self-titled LP will be available in iTunes and Spotify and all other online outlets on Friday April 21st and The Whip is the instant gratification track if purchased on iTunes. Physical copies of the record are available for pre-order from Bandcamp now. For more information, go to The Stranger Facebook
Melbourne’s Branch Arterial are returning to the fore today to bring their brand new music to the world. New music that has come literally from ‘Beyond the Border’ of life and death.
In 2013, Branch Arterial began producing this, their debut album, ‘Beyond The Border’. After a fantastic start to the process, the band was forced into a hiatus after bassist Kade Turner was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident in South America that almost cost him his life. Shortly following this traumatic event, lead vocalist Nigel Jackson began battling a life threatening illness, which involved a bone marrow transplant. Both Kade and Nigel spent substantial stays in hospital. Both recovered well after extensive periods of treatment to complete the album.
2017 sees the band overcoming this adversity as they release their long awaited debut album, Beyond The Border. Their heaviest effort yet, this album once again finds the band seeking out new vital forms of musical expression within the progressive rock idiom. After climbing a mountain of hurdles the last few years, Branch Arterial are ready to share their story with the world once again and that album will see the light of day on Friday April 28th 2017.
They are returning with the first taste of that album with new single ‘Circus’. On the track, Nigel Jackson sings about his harrowing experience in hospital battling a life threatening blood disease – “Feels like I’m caught beneath the ocean, feeling like I can’t breath, feeling I’m in a dream.”
KINGS are Brisbane’s most well-kept secret. A relatively fresh face on the heavy music scene, they nonetheless have crushed it in their short time together and like a King, they have risen to power. Now, they are bringing their new single and album to the people!
New single ‘STONE COLD’ drops online today and it comes along with a brilliant, dark, mysterious and brooding video. It will be live in Spotify this Friday 7th April and their brand new album ‘Never Alone’ will drop May 19th – with pre-orders going live next Friday April 14th. Stone Cold was recorded at STL Studios where it was mixed and mastered by Sonny Truelove.
Vocalist/Guitarist Nat Cochran said “This song was written from a time where a close friend continued to let me down over and over again. Drugs amongst other things began to change his life and his outlook towards myself and those around him. Lies and false rumours came from him until it reached a point where I had to cut him out of my life. The negativity was something I didn’t need and didn’t need to worry about anymore.”
With members from a plethora of past Brisbane bands, Kings are determined to make their mark on the heavy scene. Over a year of working hard led to 2016 where Kings launched and released two singles, LIONHEART and STAND UP. These singles alongside playing a number of local shows supporting bands such as Dream on Dreamer and I Set My Friends On Fire have built Kings a solid following. In one year Kings have amassed over 10,000 followers online with over 150k views on their debut single Lionheart.
2016 also saw Kings recording their debut album at STL Studios. Drawing influence from such bands as Beartooth, Norma Jean and Rage Against The Machine, Kings look to write music that covers multiple genres with common themes of positivity, overcoming hardships and self-belief evident in the lyrics. 2017 looks to be a big year for Kings as they release their debut album and begin to tour the country.
Kings’ new single STONE COLD will be available in stores this Friday April 7th and Pre-Orders for album NEVER ALONE go live Friday April 14th. For more information, contact Tim Price at Collision Course – firstname.lastname@example.org.
